Teacher Self-Care 101

As teachers, it’s hard to find time for everything you need and everyone who needs you throughout the day. It’s too easy to get lost in the tasks related to your profession, from lesson plans to caring for the students who need extra attention. Paying attention to your own needs is a key part of maintaining your health and avoiding burnout. Make basic care for your body and mind a priority. Once you get behind on important self-care tasks, even basic ones, it’s harder to catch up. Falling into unsustainable sleep or eating habits can make it that much harder to find time and energy for your role as an educator. Instead, work on planning your sleep schedule, meals, and exercise goals for the week. You’ll have more stamina to keep you going on the long days. While these basic essentials are important, there’s a lot more to be done in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance. For more information regarding the self-care methods helping teachers around the world, please read on to the resource found within this post.
